Proposed Merger between Everychild Trust and Partners in Learning Academy Trust
Tue 20 Sep 2022The Trust Boards of Everychild Trust and Partners in Learning Academy Trust are currently asking our school communities for their views regarding a proposed merger between the two trusts.
The Senior Leadership Team and trustees of Everychild Trust and Partners in Learning Academy Trust have worked closely together for some time and are excited by the opportunity that further and closer collaboration may have for the educational and pastoral outcomes for our pupils. We believe
that increasing collaboration between the two organisations offers benefits for pupils, parents and staff. We are keen to hear your views regarding this and will amend our proposals to merge in light of feedback gained from you.
For further information regarding the proposal to merge, please find below.
Which trusts are proposing to merge?
Everychild Trust and Partners in Learning Academy Trust are proposing to merge. This will result in a local trust formed of the following schools:
- Hatchlands Primary School (Surrey)
- Leaps Nursery (Surrey)
- Sandcross School (Surrey)
- Baldwins Hill Primary School (West Sussex)
- Blackwell Primary School (West Sussex)
- Halsford Park Primary School (West Sussex)
Each trust provides a range of support to each school, including providing back-office services (such as cleaning and catering) cost-effectively, supporting staff in developing their teaching and learning, and supporting schools through processes such as recruitment and Ofsted inspections.
How will the schools benefit from the merger?
Changes from the merger will largely be at the central trust level. When considering merger, both Everychild Trust and Partners in Learning Academy Trust Trust Boards have agreed a commitment to:
- Maintaining the distinct identity of each school in the Trust in alignment with the Trust’s Mission, Vision and Values.
- Excellent support for all students, including those with SEND, and strong pastoral care
- Community focus and engagement
- Professional development for all staff

January 2021 Lockdown
Fri 08 Jan 20217th January 2021
We want to take a moment to share some of the amazing work that is taking place within our Trust to support our children and families during these difficult and challenging times.
Following on from the first National lockdown and the difficulties many families faced in accessing online learning, we made the decision to invest in our IT infrastructure for staff and children by upgrading our systems and providing every child within our Trust from Year 1 to Year 6 with a Chromebook. The children have been utilising these in school and as we face into a further lockdown we have been able to distribute these devices immediately to all those who need them. Our amazing staff have been preparing these for collection and yesterday saw 478 Chromebooks go home ready for the children to start live lessons and home learning. The remainder will be collected before the end of this week.
Our leadership teams have said that whilst catering for the needs of our children and families, we as a Trust have instilled confidence within our parents, kept learning at the forefront and laid the foundations for everyone to be successful.
All of our children are able to access the same high quality learning, whether they are at home or in school. Systems are in place to ensure the wellbeing of every child, our premises have been made ready to accept those needing to come into school and enhanced cleaning regimes continue. Food parcels are being distributed to those families in need and we will continue to share details of any further support we can offer.
We are hugely proud of every member of our staff; their dedication, flexibility, resourcefulness and determination to do whatever is right for the children in their care, is clear. We are equally proud of our children and families and are extremely grateful for the support you continue to give. Please remember we are here to support you in any way we can.
Stay safe and we look forward to the time we are able to welcome everyone back.
Best wishes from
Everyone at Everychild Trust
